Davorel Sofas manufactures made-to-order furniture in Centurion, Gauteng. The workshop and the showroom are the same address — Unit B1, 5 Bellingham Street, Highveld, Centurion — so the furniture on the floor was built in the building behind it. Davorel is a manufacturer, not a reseller of imported furniture.
Indoor sofas start at R12 699 for a Velorra 1-seater. Every piece is built to order in 20 to 25 days, then delivered 1 to 3 days after completion — the full breakdown is on how long a custom sofa takes to make.

Fabric, foam and timber are the three decisions that commit a custom build, and both are far easier to make in person than from a photograph. Every fabric range and every stain is on the floor to handle.

Delivery is free within Centurion, R750 flat for deliveries in Gauteng (outside of Centurion) and R1 500 flat outside Gauteng to the rest of South Africa
Six fabric ranges, compared by durability
Davorel specifies every upholstery range by Martindale rub count — the number of abrasion cycles a fabric withstands in a standardised test before showing wear. As a general guide, 30,000 rubs is the usual threshold for domestic use and 50,000 for heavy domestic or light commercial. All six ranges meet or exceed the domestic threshold.
| Fabric | Used on | Composition | Rub count |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mistelle | Furrona pet range | 100% polyester velvet | 110,000 |
| Glaciella | Velorra | 100% polyester | 100,000 |
| Luma | Velorra, Cubs | 92% polyester, 8% nylon | 100,000 |
| Ardin | Velorra | 100% polyester | 65,000 |
| Clario | Cavura outdoor | 100% solution-dyed polyester | 50,000 |
| FibreGuard Outdoor | Varela outdoor | 100% solution-dyed recycled polypropylene | 40,000 |
FibreGuard on the Varela range is stain-free, water repellent, anti-microbial and mildew and odour resistant, with a colour fastness rating of 7–8. Ardin is dry-clean only and must never be washed or ironed. Full care instructions for each range are in the fabric guide and on the care and cleaning page.
Three timbers, each chosen for a purpose
- Red Oak — the indoor Velorra sofas and the coffee table, in Natural, Clear, Light Brown, Medium Brown and Dark Brown stains.
- Iroko, also called African teak — the outdoor Cavura and Varela ranges, chosen for how it weathers, with its own stain set.
- Saligna — the Furrona pet range.
The Cubs toddler sofa is a soft, lightweight foam piece with no timber frame. More detail on grain, stains and finishing is in timbers and stains.

Buying from a manufacturer rather than a retailer
Because the furniture is built rather than bought in, the specification is set per order: the fabric range and colour, the timber stain, and the size within what the range offers. Nothing is chosen from finished stock. Every piece carries a limited warranty against qualifying manufacturing defects — 5 years on frame and structure, 2 years on foam and cushioning, and 2 years on stitching and workmanship.
